Overview

The Diploma in Company Direction is an opportunity to put into practice the knowledge gained from the Certificate in a realistic and safe environment. It encourages peer-group support, challenge and stimulation, mirroring in many ways the operation of a board.

Challenge and utilise the knowledge gained from your experience as a director in an applied and dynamic way with the IoD Diploma in Company Direction Level qualification.

By replicating the issues of a 'real' organisation, you will gain hands-on experience that will not only enable you to achieve a world-class qualification, but also to make a significant impact on your board's effectiveness.

You will receive feedback on your own performance as a board member and return to your organisation ready to tackle future challenges with greater expertise and confidence.

Developing Board Performance

This three-day module of the Diploma in Company Direction provides a unique opportunity to put your skills to the test as you act as a board member to tackle a real-life board-room scenario, mirroring in many ways the operation of a board.

Course Pre-Requisites

To qualify for the IoD Chartered Director Programme, applicants must have achieved their Certificate in Company Direction.

Applicants should be experienced directors and senior leaders who wish to further their development with practical application and understanding of the knowledge and skills required at board level.

• Understand your board’s role, its dynamic, power, influence and conflicts

• Gain knowledge of important topics: risk and crisis management, decision-making, mergers and acquisitions, and board performance

• Evaluate and improve the performance of your board, its committees and individual directors

When you have passed the examination you will be awarded the Diploma in Company Direction. This is also an essential step for achieving Chartered Director status, the professional qualification that recognises the professionalism and experience of directors.
